Why do Kiwis Pay Higher Mortgage Rates than Other Countries?

Mortgage interest rates have increased in response to the Reserve Bank raising the Official Cash Rate to 2.5 per cent last week. But this isn’t the first time that New Zealand’s mortgage interest rates have been higher – in comparison to the OECD, our rates have been high for the past 20 years!
